No exciting news yet--Amélie is still happy where she is and hasn't decided to enter the world yet, but I thought I'd just post some pictures and update you on the latest around here.
After church on Sunday, Don, Denis, and I participated in a children's activity with the "Atlanta Accueil" which is a French club in Atlanta in which French speakers/people that have moved here from French speaking countries gather together and do different activites. Sunday was the celebration of "Les Galettes des Rois" (King's Cake), in which a figurine (usually of Jesus, or a bean representing Jesus) is placed in the cake and after the cake is cut, the person who receives the figurine becomes "king for the day". It's neat b/c it's similar to what my family and other Greek families participate in at Epiphany each year--my mom would make a braided sweet bread (Vasilopita) and place a coin inside. It was always so exciting to see who would get the coin. This particular event was held at a French bakery in Marietta and the pastry chef demonstrated to all the kids how to make the cake. Then the kids created their own crown and finally got to eat the cake. As you can see in the pictures below, Denis LOVED the galette. We had a lot of fun and I had a chance to practice my French with others.
On another subject entirely, my sister and I were talking on the phone the other day about my due date for this pregnancy and she mentioned how you know it's getting really close when you start seeing expiration dates on things that are either on your due date or after your due date. Well, Don bought some milk the other day and the expiration date is the day before my due date (the 26th)!!!
