Hi everyone,
I hope you all had a wonderful Christmas. We've been busy, so I haven't posted much, but I plan to post lots of pictures to catch you up on what's been going on here.
So, 2008 is here, the year when our little girl will be born. We have (pretty much) decided on Amelie for the name of our little one, I guess it can always change, so it's not quite "carved in stone" yet.
I went for a checkup today. Today began the weekly checkups until she arrives. I have been having lots of "braxton hicks" contractions (which are practice contractions) lately, so I was curious to see if I was progressing yet. The doctor said I am 1 cm. dialated and her head is down. I think she has "dropped" which means she's lower down in my abdomen. Also, I had my blood drawn today (yuck) to see if I'm anemic. So, we'll see how far along I am at next weeks appointment. When the doctor was checking her heart beat, she was really excited and the heartbeat was in the 160's!! She also kicked the doctor again when she put the monitor on my belly--ha ha.
Denis seems to be understanding a little better that his little sister is in my belly. He had a tough couple of nights 2 weeks ago where he didn't want either Don or I to leave his room when we'd put him down for a nap. As soon as we'd leave the room he'd scream and scream for us to come back. It was heart wrenching. One night, Don ended up sleeping in his little bed with him just so that they could both get some sleep. He's doing much better now--he hasn't cried for us for the last week, so I guess he's over that little stage (for now.)
I had a really bad sinus infection two days before Christmas, so I spent most of the day in bed while Don took care of me and Denis--What a fantatstic husband and father. :-) I got much better after being on antibiotics for a few days, but at first it felt like someone punched me in the face from all the sinus pain--but I'm much better now! Yea.That's all for now. Until next time,
Nicole
