It's been awhile . . .

I had a feeling that I wouldn't update this blog as much as I should, but here I am again with the latest news and pictures. Things have been going really well lately. I finally feel like I'm back to my old self (energy-wise). My back is really hurting a lot, especially after sitting or lying down for a period of time, and my joints in my legs hurt much more than they did with Denis. I am currently 31 weeks--not much longer to go!!

I went for my last check-up last week (Nov. 21st) and I got to listen to our little girl's heartbeat again! (143 bpm). My blood-sugar test came back normal so no gestational diabetes for me. :-) I go back every 2 weeks now.

Don and I had a wonderful getaway to Hilton Head last weekend. Yaya and Papou babysat Denis at their house and he had so much fun! Thank you very much Yaya and Papou! It was nice to get away by ourselves for the first time in a little over a year. We stayed at the Crowne Plaza which is right on the beach. It is the same hotel my family stayed in when I was young, so it brought back lots of memories. I have posted some pictures from this trip below. Believe it or not, these are the first "profile" pictures I have taken since the last one I've posted here almost 10 weeks ago! I meant to take a picture every week, but I just haven't been keeping up with it this time. The one with the red semi-circle is actually a picture of my "view" looking down. I tried to get creative by taking a picture of the wave and my belly at the same time.

As far as ideas for names go, Don and I are trying to decide between three: Amelie, Eleora, and Claire. I'm not sure how we are going to decide as I like all three of them almost equally!

Oh yeah! Some other big news since I last posted is that Denis switched to his big boy bed from his crib! He did so with NO problem at all! He loves his new room. I've started to add "girly" touches to the baby's room, and Denis doesn't seem to mind . . .yet.

I am in the process for decorating for Christmas--the tree is up and almost all the wreaths on the windows are up. I think I might regret decorating as much as I have when Christmas is over because I will have a lot to put away and I will be ready to pop by then!

Until next time (hopefully it won't be long),
Nicole

Hi Nicle
You guys look great! We throughly enjoyed taking care of Denis. We had such a good time as we know he did. However, he was surely glad to see you guys. We were sitting by the Christas tree absorbed in the awe of it through Denis's perspective when you surprised him with your arrival. HE WAS SO EXITED TO SEE YOU BOTH,it brought tears to my eyes It was more than a pleasure to spend some quality time with him We are looking forward to do it again in the future, God willing.
Love you guys
Mom and Dad

Nicole,

I'm so glad you and Don had a nice getaway, and that Denis had a great time with your parents. I can tell he loves them so much (and vice versa), and I know that makes it so much easier for you to leave him with them!

And you look beautiful! I'm sorry your body is aching -- I remember how difficult the last several weeks can be. Thanks for sharing those names with us! I can't wait to find out which one you choose. :)

Love,
Julie

Hi, my beautiful sistah! Wow! I wish I had read your post before I spoke with you today... it would have saved you some energy from repeating it all to me!

My advice on the aches and pains is:

(1)LISTEN to your body!! If moving a certain way hurts... DON'T do it!

(2) It's God's way to make you willing to go through severe pain just to get this baby OUT!

(3) Just remember that even though you feel huge and are achey... at least you don't have to change diapers, you don't have sleepless nights with a screaming newborn, and you don't have a baby eating from you every 2 hours. Enjoy the calm before the storm! ;0)

I can't wait to see you on 12/15 and give my niece a big hug and a kiss through your belly!
